The Best Day Ever
It was the story of two kids. The story of being raised just down the road. Of going to school and church together. Of working on the farm and raising 4-H animals and falling in love. Of a broken road and silence and finding their way back together with handwritten letters and a bright and glorious new future.
The wedding was hosted by the bride's family on her family farm - a celebration of love and joy with family and friends-like-family and neighbor support! Every detail spoke of the circle these two have around them, and it was infinitely special to capture every moment - from the first look under the willow tree in front of the farm house, to the ceremony in the field just down the lane, to the barn reception filled to the brim with rejoicing guests.
Barn Reception
Oh, the details! Wedding guests rode the tractor & trailer hayride from the field where the ceremony was set, up the lane to the newly restored barn. Except the bride and groom - who preferred to walk the lane together and enjoy their own post-ceremony moment alone!
And what a reception it was! So many smiles and dances and laughter. The speeches were given by the maid of honor (sister of the bride) and two brothers of the groom, and when family is involved, there are many hilarious stories. Laughter and tears, and sometimes at the same time!
First Dance
Well, I was nineteen, you were twenty-one
The year we got engaged
And everyone said we were much too young
But we did it anyway
And we went dancing in the minefields
We went sailing in the storms
And it was harder than we dreamed
But I believe that's what the promise is for
